Thanks to extensive research, modelers can now build the F-35 Lightning II Variant A, developed for the U.S. Air Force under the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program. The F-35 family—Variant A for the Air Force, B for the Marines, and C for the Navy—is considered a fifth-generation fighter, featuring cutting-edge stealth capabilities, advanced network connectivity, and superior situational awareness enabled by its array of integrated sensors. First delivered in 2015, over 3,000 F-35s are planned for deployment globally. Inheriting its name from the famed P-38 Lightning, the F-35 is set to lead global air forces well into the future.
