The Castle Creations Mamba Micro X2 Waterproof 1/18th Scale Brushless Combo with 0808-4100Kv motor is the perfect upgrade for 1:18 scale RC vehicles, up to 3S LiPo and weighing in at up to 2.25lbs. Vehicles include: Traxxas Slash 4×4 1/16th, Losi Mini-T 2.0, Traxxas LaTrax Rally, Traxxas LaTrax Teton, and Axial Yeti Jr.

The Mamba Micro X2 ESC increases the maximum input voltage to 4s, with added DATA LOGGING and CRYO-DRIVE TECHNOLOGY that allows the ESC to run cooler and more efficiently at partial throttle. Like its predecessor, it is waterproof* and offers SENSORED MOTOR SUPPORT. This is the perfect upgrade for 1:18th scale 2WD or 4WD vehicles up to 2.25 lbs. The Mamba Micro X also works well in some 1:10th scale crawlers for low speed operation (no rock racing/hill climbing).

Product Use Statements: 

• Applying voltages higher than 16.8 volts will cause irreparable damage to your controller, voiding your warranty.
• Minimum recommended battery capacity for 1:18 scale vehicles is 1500mAh. Castle recommends using 30C continuous discharge or higher LiPo batteries (or high quality 25C batteries such as Traxxas® Power Cell).
• Mamba Micro X has 3.5mm bullet connectors on the motor wires and the battery input wires are bare. You must add the connector of your choice to the battery leads. Castle recommends a high current connector rated for at least 40 amps.
• Although the Mamba Micro X2 is waterproof, it is not intended for operation while completely submerged in liquid. They can corrode when exposed to corrosive materials, such as salt water. Always rinse the ESC with clean water after exposure to corrosives or dirt. While the controller may be waterproof, Castle suggests users confirm that the rest of their vehicle, including the batteries, servos, radio and chassis are also waterproof before exposing them to liquids of any kind.
• Monitor motor temperatures closely; overheating a motor will cause permanent damage to the magnets. Never exceed 180° F on the the motor or ESC.

I bought this for my losi mini t 2.0 as castle recomends. Doesn’t feel like I got the bang for my buck. Maybe should have bought a diffrent kv. But as far as 4100kv for my application was let down Jaron Gentry Verified Owner Saturday, Nov 11 2023 (about a year ago) Castle Creations Mamba Micro X2 Waterproof 1/18th Scale Brushless Combo (4100Kv) Installed this in my kids’ Axial Yeti Jr. 1/18. Purchased the RRP1199 Robinson Racing reducer sleeve for 1/8″ to 2mm and a RRP1012 Robinson Racing 3.17mm bore 48P 12T steel pinion gear, compared to 15T stock. Stock Axial pinion gear does not fit tight on 2mm motor shafts. Stock Axial motor shaft is 2.3mm. Also installed an old Spektrum receiver that I had left over from my crawler, which can bind to the Yeti’s controller/transmitter. Plugged into my computer with the Castle Link and turned down the punch, timing, and top speed to prevent damage to gears and axles. Ran on 3s lipo and 3s lihv in the backyard and ran great. Better acceleration, higher top speed, and longer run times compared to the NiMH batteries on stock setup. Motor stayed cool enough to hold my finger on it the entire time. If running 3s, would definitely recommend gearing down to keep motor temps cool. This motor shaft does have a flat spot on it for the pinion gear grub screw to tighten onto. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade a similar rig.
